EcoVadis once again confirms our commitment to corporate social responsibility

For the Umicore Group, economic success and sustainable action have always been closely linked at all levels. We are convinced that the two are mutually dependent and represent the right path for us. No wonder that we have firmly anchored this claim in our corporate philosophy (Umicore Way). This means that our customers, employees and other stakeholders can always be sure that every new development, every decision and every action is geared towards ensuring that everyone involved wins in the end - true to our slogan: materials for a better life.

In the meantime, it is good to see that responsible behaviour is also becoming increasingly important elsewhere. Unfortunately, it is sometimes only promised. To ensure that you as a stakeholder can trust our commitment to sustainable behaviour, we have been audited by EcoVadis for over a decade. The independent rating agency EcoVadis specialises in assessing corporate social responsibility and analyses the Umicore Group in the areas of environment, working conditions, human rights and ethics as well as sustainable procurement.

Not only you, but also we benefit from this independent assessment of our business behaviour. The annual EvoVadis reports give us an overview of whether we are as good as we want to be in these areas. In addition, direct indications and comparisons help us to recognise and eliminate any weaknesses.

In 2024, Umicore maintained its position as one of the world's leading companies in the EcoVadis social responsibility assessment, with an almost unchanged overall score of 73/100. Despite the increasing demands in the assessment categories, Umicore remains in the top 5% of companies assessed, a remarkable achievement for us given that 130,000 companies are now assessed by EcoVadis, 30,000 more than the previous year.

This achievement was again recognised by EcoVadis with a gold medal. This motivates us to continue our commitment to fair and ethical business practices, to prioritise health and safety even more and to further reduce our impact on people, the climate and the environment.

Our environmental efforts are recognised as outstanding by EcoVadis and can be attributed to our internal "Go for Zero" initiative.
