Five new product sheets for electroforming with wax and metal mandrels

Umicore Electroplating strengthens its market activities in electroforming. For this purpose, the company has launched five new product sheets. These inform on two pages as a PDF on the advantages and application possibilities, as well as technical characteristics and processing options. The new short descriptions provide details on ARGUNA® 621 EF, AURUNA® 3407, AURUNA® 5500 EF, AURUNA® 556 EF-24 and AURUNA® 568 EF-18. ARGUNA® represents silver electrolytes, products of the brand AURUNA® produce gold layers. An advantage of Umicore solutions is that they can be processed both with wax and with metal mandrels. The product also include environmentally friendly gold processes. Umicore offers, for example, for over 30 years a cadmium-free gold-silver electrolyte for 18-karat layers. Since cadmium is prohibited even in the jewellery industry, more and more manufacturers rely on this proven product. Particularly in China, companies also increasingly use cyanide-free processes for electroforming. Even for this request Umicore provides appropriate solutions.

Martin Stegmaier, head of decorative applications at Umicore Electroplating, says, that a growing demand for electroforming solutions can especially be observed in Asia, as these products are used by some as a form of financial investment.
